The
following was revised by the Joint Haas Scholarship
Committee in June 1997
Applications
and Awards:
The committee advertises the availability of the award
and solicits applications. The award may be given in
whatever amount the committee chooses, but not to
exceed $500.00 to the same person or project in any
one year. Awards are made from annual contributions
and from interest. The endowment is not touched.
The
award may be used to support any archival or records
management work, but preference will be given to
projects that show the need for cooperation among
archivists and records managers. This award is limited
to applicants within New England and preference is
given to local chapter members in good standing of
ARMA or the NEA.
The
committee may consider granting two awards, @$500.00
each, in any one year; one for professional
development (attending meeting or seminar), and one
relating to a project. There is no obligation to grant
the award annually.
The
committee reports regularly to both boards, describing
its activities, especially the awards given and the
reports of the activities funded by the Haas Award.
The
scholarship awards are announced at the annual awards
meeting which takes place at the May ARMA Boston
monthly meeting.
