The Certified Records Manager (CRM)
designation is awarded by the
Institute
of Certified Records Managers. The Boston Chapter is proud to count
thirteen CRMs among its members. Several other members have taken several
parts of the CRM exam in pursuit of certification.
CRM candidates must meet education and
experience criteria before being approved to sit for the six-part exam. The
first five parts consist of multiple choice questions. Candidates must pass
these exams before taking Part 6. In Part 6, candidates are asked to write
two case studies on specific records management issues. Candidates have five
years to complete the exam cycle.
The Boston Chapter strongly supports all
its members who pursue certification. Services available to these members
include: advice on applications; access to research materials in the chapter
library; access to study guides and sample exams; and CRM mentors who
provide guidance, support and encouragement.
