December Meeting: Member Panel

We are excited to announce our Chapter meeting on December 11th!  We are pleased to feature an interactive panel format with fourof our very own chapter members!  Our panelists will be sharing some of the experiences and challenges they've faced in their careers, as well as answering questions from the audience.  We hope you'll join us for our last meeting before the Holidays.  See you at Via Matta!

Jacki Cheslow, CRM is Director of the Avis Budget Group (ABG) Global Business Ethics and Compliance program including the oversight of the Record and Information Management program. ABG, a leading provider of vehicle services, has more 10,000-rental locations in approximately 175 countries around the world and operates five brands: Avis, Budget, Zipcar, Payless and Apex. Jacki has 25 years’ experience in record and information governance, global compliance, risk management, training and holds a B.S. in Business Assurance & Security. Jacki is currently President of the ARMA NNJ Chapter, Co-Chair the Information Governance Community of Practice for Corporate Knowledge Strategies and a member of the Corporate Council at the Information Governance Initiative (IGI). An avid reader as well as an amateur chef and caterer she enjoys nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her 2-year old granddaughter, Charlotte in between travels for ABG.

George Despres
University Records Manager, Brandeis University
George has over 20 years of experience in the information management profession.  He has worked intensively in the archives and records management fields. He earned a BA in History and a MS in Library and Information Science. He worked for over seven years as Manager, Corporate Records and Archives, at the MITRE Corporation before coming to Brandeis University last year, to establish a new records management program.  He authors the Brandeis Records Manager blog and facilitates workshops on establishing and promoting records management programs.


Donda Young
Manager, Information Records Management at Unum
Donda has been employed with Unum, an international disability insurance company, for 15 years working in various roles in the RIM spectrum.  Her current role is Manager of Projects and Programs for the U.S.. She has been a subject matter expert in two major RIM system deployments during her tenure. In 2010, drove the successful transformation of the ‘Big Bucket’ approach of Unum’s records retention schedule of over 600 retention categories into 40 categories.  She is currently leading the records assessment effort in a corporate wide IT initiative to implement data retention in a structured data archive with key stakeholders and business partners. Member of ARMA since 2001.

Morgan Gottfried
Senior RIM Analyst, Records and Information Management at Shire
Morgan joined the Research & Development Organization at Shire Pharmaceuticals in 2011, where she maintained the archive of intellectual assets from groups ranging from Early Discovery to Non-Clinical Development and supported numerous agency inspections and legal matters.  She has since performed roles of increasing complexity and currently serves as the Senior Records & Information Management (RIM) Analyst reporting to the Global Head of RIM within the Legal Department. In her current role, Morgan serves as the RIM representative on a range of projects. During mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and site closures she works on integration teams to develop processes, communicate safeguarding information instructions to employees across the globe, and report on project status to Executive Management. She also manages the communication and branding of the records management program and ensures that employees across the business are aware of their records management obligations and remain in compliance with corporate policies and procedures. In her various roles at Shire, Morgan has participated in the launch of content management platforms, including an electronic archiving solution, where she identified user requirements and performed gap analyses as part or core teams and developed vital process excellence and business analysis expertise. Morgan holds her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Archives and Records Administration from San Jose State University's School of Library and Information Science.
