Save the Date! ARMA Boston June Chapter Meeting and Gala!
The Commonwealth Museum, 220 Morrissey Blvd. Boston, MA 02125
Please join ARMA Boston on June 5, 2014 for a talk, tour, and cocktail reception at the Commonwealth Museum in Boston. We will be joined by Michael Comeau, the Executive Director of the Archives and Commonwealth, who will give a brief talk about the archival and museum operations. Following the talk will be a guided tour of the museum’s “Treasures” gallery with Dr. Steve Kenney, Museum Director.
The Museum’s collections document the history of Massachusetts, from its colonial beginnings to the present day. Included among these collections are some of our nation’s most important historical treasures, foundation documents of both the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the new United States. Some of the items on display include the Massachusetts copy of the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, “John Adams” Massachusetts Constitution of 1780, and unique royal charters. The gallery also holds the copper plate used by Paul Revere to engrave his Boston Massacre image.
REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
NE Regional Conference Attendee: $5.00*
Northeast Regional Meeting
This event coincides with the ARMA Northeast Regional Meeting. The Regional Meeting is open to current board members and officers of ARMA, and to those who might be thinking of serving on the board or a committee. This leadership conference is designed to help ARMA Chapter leaders in their roles, and is a great networking opportunity with other ARMA Chapters in the region. You can find out more about the conference here.
Transportation for Attendees
ARMA Boston will be happy to reimburse all attendees for their taxi fare to and from the Museum. Estimated taxi fare is approximately $20 each way, and most Boston taxi cabs take credit card. Please contact Karen Caridllo at firstname.lastname@example.org for a reimbursement form. We also suggest downloading the free "Uber" car service app for your smart phone, as prices are competitive with taxis and can be ordered on-demand to your location. Uber transactions are cash-less, because you register your credit card as part of your profile in advance of the ride. For more information, go to www.uber.com or download the Uber app.
