ARMA Boston October Meeting: Making the Most of Your ARMA Membership

Join us Thursday, October 17 from 11:30am-2:00pm at Maggiano's Little Italy for our October meeting!

At this meeting, four ARMA Board Members will be sharing their experience and insights on skills development, networking, and organizational change in the RM profession. While the panelists will be discussing the topics listed below, we encourage the audience to drive the conversation by asking questions or relating their own experiences.

The discussion with focus on:

·         Making meaningful connections and “allies”

·         Keeping up with shifting responsibilities and a changing work environment


Sue Trombley, MLIS, IGP, Managing Director, Consulting Services for Iron Mountain 

Sue has over 25 years’ experience in information technology and records management.  She specializes in enterprise information management and strategy, email management strategy, and electronic records roadmap development.  


Meg Duncan, CRM, ECMP, Sr. Records Management Analysts at Fidelity Investments 

With over 25 years of experience in records and information management, Meg’s career started in the non-profit industry working on special records projects to becoming a records manager. She later joined Fidelity where she became a CRM. Meg’s specialties include operational support for enterprise RIM and the records community at Fidelity, education of RIM policies/procedures, and the creation/use of toolkits for the RIM program. Meg graduated from Bay Path College with a Masters in Communication & Information Management and received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University. 


Michael DeVanna, MLS, CRM, Records and Information Manager, Blue Cross Blue Shield 

Michael DeVanna has a master’s degree in library science, with a concentration in archival studies, from Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. His undergraduate work in American Studies was completed at Franklin Pierce University. Michael is certified as a CRM by the Institute of Certified Records Managers, and is also a member of ARMA, AIIM, the Society of American Archivists, and the American Library Association. He recently finished collaborating with ARMA International colleagues on a soon-to-be-published ARMA/ANSI technical report: Developing Electronic File Structures.Michael’s career has seen him managing records at the following fine organizations: The First Church of Christ, Scientist; Bose Corporation; Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, and Computer Sciences Corporation. He currently manages the records & information management program at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. 


Becky Darsch, CRM, Managing Director of US Operations, Information Mapping, Inc.  

For over 20 years, Becky has worked with organizations to support their records and information management needs.  She earned her CRM in 2008.  At TAB Products, Becky facilitated the transition from paper to electronic records, while helping clients manage the lifecycle of their information.   She led a team of sales consultants who serviced national accounts throughout the US.   Recently, she joined Information Mapping, Inc. as the Managing Director of US Operations.  The Information Mapping® method helps organizations capture, communicate, and manage enterprise-level content collections through training, consulting services and software solutions—making sure information works.   


Karen Cardillo

Karen Cardillo has a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Northeastern University.  Karen has 14 years’ experience in Records Management. She started her career in the energy industry at Boston Gas working in IT as a QA Analyst, and later moved into Records Management, taking with her the knowledge of electronic records within the company's systems.  Later Karen moved into the Health Care industry as a RM Auditor/Analyst at Fresenuis Medical Care.  Duties include writing RM policies and procedures and conducting RM training to employees across North America.  Currently Karen is working at Dunkin Brands as the Records Management Supervisor.
