Overview:   E-discovery Federal Rules Changes:
Practical Impacts for Records Management Professionals

This presentation examines the recently implemented changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which govern civil cases in federal court, relating to “electronically stored information”. Practical concerns raised by these changes concerning the way records are stored, managed, and produced will be discussed from a records management perspective.

 

Biography:

Kenneth V. Nourse is a Legal Consultant for Kroll Ontrack in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Legal Consultant, Mr. Nourse advises both law firm and corporate clients on the latest e-discovery case law, e-discovery best practices, and how to effectively manage electronic evidence from discovery to production.  He has led numerous continuing education presentations and seminars covering those subjects for attorneys and other legal professionals in both the U.S. and Canada.

Mr. Nourse has a wide range of legal and technology experience spanning nearly ten years.  Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a consultant at an Internet-related company, where he advised clients on emerging technology and resources, and also worked on the projects side of a telecommunications software and consulting company.  While in law school, Mr. Nourse worked as a legal intern for the High Tech & Computer Crimes Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and was a law clerk at Goodwin Procter’s Boston headquarters.  Most recently, Mr. Nourse was a Litigation Associate in the Boston office of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge and represented clients in IP, complex commercial, and real estate disputes.

Mr. Nourse received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston and received his B.A. from McGill University in Montreal. He is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Maine and is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.
