Overview: 'Information
Access - The Name of the Game'
How the areas of
records management, security, and contingency relate to each other, overlap
and affect each other.
Biography:
Meg
Duncan has worked in the Records management department at The First Church of Christ,
Scientist for 20 years. Her positions included Librarian/Office
assistant, Records technician, and Records Management Analyst where she worked on
several projects, the main one being the conversion of the
legacy RMS system (built in-house) to an off the shelf system called RIMS
(now Opentext's iRIMS). Mrs. Duncan earned her CRM in 2003. She is
currently working in the Legal Department at Fidelity Investments as a
Records Manager for the department. Meg has been a member
of the ARMA Boston chapter since 1996 and has served several times on the
board and on some committees. She is currently serving as the
education director for the chapter. Meg is also a member of AIIM and
has just completed the online course for the ERM practitioner certificate.
Overview:
'Trends in Auto Categorization'
The
geometric growth of information has made it almost impossible to support a
records management plan that can rely solely upon manual declarations.
While certain information types are easier to manually declare, the need to
provide some level of automated declaration is something that we must all
start to consider. This session will serve as an introduction into the
emerging area of Automated Records Classification. We will also review
the fundamentals supporting these technologies and how far along they are in
the real-world. We will conclude by identifying what information types
are better targets for Automated Records Classification and Process
Automation and how you need to prepare to accommodate this new world of
Records Management
